Our practice has a long history of providing quality, personalized eye care in West Wichita. Dr. Byron Babb graduated from Needles Institute in Chicago, IL and founded this practice at Douglas and Seneca in 1920. Dr. Babb's son, Dr. Dean L. Babb, joined the practice in 1951 after graduating from the Illinois College of Optometry (which was previously called Needles Institute). The practice moved to its present location in June of 1971 - the same year that Dr. Byron retired.
In 1976, Dr. Ronald D. Fisher graduated from the University of Houston, College of Optometry and joined the practice. Dr. Dean retired in 1990 and Dr. Fisher practiced solo for a period of time. Dr. Jeffrey H. Yarrow, who graduated from the University of Houston, College of Optometry in 1992 joined Dr. Fisher in 1993. Then in August of 2002, Dr. Chadwin L. Fleming joined Drs. Fisher and Yarrow. Dr. Fleming is a graduate of Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, OK. During his time as a student he held the office of president of the American Optometric Student Association.
Drs. Fisher, Yarrow, and Fleming are members of the American Optometric Association, the Kansas Optometric Association, the Wichita Optometric Society, and the Eye Care Council. They are all fully licensed and practice to the extent of Kansas law to diagnose, treat, and manage vision and ocular health conditions. They remain committed to the same philosophy the Babb's held - quality eye care with personal time and availability for every individual patient.
